Young Carers and Adult Carers Raise Awareness in our towns and communities!
In the towns of Brecon and Welshpool Outreach workers will carrying out a raising awareness sessions by visiting shops and businesses talking about Credu and the support we offer to Carers. They are also going into local solicitors and the GP surgery’s to discuss Carers rights and Credu. They will also be talking to shoppers and the community about what they think about Carers rights.
Outreach workers in mid Powys will be in the foyer of Tesco in Llandrindod Wells from 11-1pm. They will be talking to members of the public and staff about their experiences of being a Carer and what rights they believe they have and want. They will collate these views and record them for our quarterly report. Whilst they are having these conversations they will be listening to what is important in people’s lives and if there is anything we can do to support them In their journey.
In Knighton we are delivering an information stall and group talk in St Edmunds Church. During this event food is served and it is a great opportunity to meet other people and listen to what is on offer in your local area. This is open to the public.
In the Credu shop in Machynlleth they are holding a raffle all day with great prizes. There will be people to speak with all day around what matters to Carers. Come along and see if you are lucky in the raffle, grab yourself a bargain and share some of your thoughts with staff.
Celebrating Amazing Young Carers and Carers in Ystradgynlais!
On the 22nd November Ystradgynlais are holding a celebration evening from 6-8pm in the Welfare Hall. This event is called V.I.C (Very Important Carers) and really shows how important Carers are in the community of Ystradgynlais. Credu values the amazing work they do with us and the support that they show each other. This event will be an amazing way to celebrate Carers and their families. Young Carers assert their Rights down Cardiff Bay!
Young Carers and an Outreach worker are attending the Senned to discuss the Welsh Assemblies proposal in supporting Young Carers in Wales. Our young people are so passionate about the rights of Carers and their families and this is w wonderful opportunity for them to have their voice heard in an arena where decisions are made.
