Although caring is a big part of your life, it is important that you think of yourself as more than just a carer. You are also a person in your own right, and while you might be used to putting the needs of the person you care for first, it is essential that you also think of your own.
To be well-balanced and feel happier you also need to have a life outside of caring. We can help you think things through:
- Who are you besides a carer?
- What would you like to do, be, achieve?
- What are your goals and aspirations?
- How can you move closer towards them while balancing your caring role?
We can help you with practical information and support to create time or opportunities for you to pursue your interests, with training and volunteering opportunities, and advice with school, college, university, and employment and career. Counselling sessions are also available.
Together we can figure out what’s important to you besides caring, we will help you set goals, and we will provide as much support as we can to help you on your way towards reaching them.
