WCD Family Fun Day Prestatyn August 10th

We held the first ever Family Fun Day at the ever popular Salford Children’s Holiday Camp in Prestatyn last week.  All of our young carer families were invited to come along and join in with the fun!  They enjoyed bouncy castles, glitter tattoos, drumming and theatrical workshops, crafts, sports and games, a climbing wall and lots of free play!  Professional agencies came along too and we enjoyed the company of the Fire Service, Police, Fusiliers, Barnados.  Special thanks to the Welsh Ambulance Trust who funded this occasion for us and also came along and did some CPR and defib demos.

Trip Opportunity for Young Carers and their Families!!

We have been kindly offered some spare places on a trip being organised by Createasmile (charity supporting children with ASD/ADHD and SEN and their whole family).  The trip is going out on June 10th and is going to the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley.  Leaving 7.30am and back 10.30pm (via coaches starting from Llandudno Junction and Towyn and calling at Chester and Wrexham).

Young Carers will have to be accompanied by a parent (please note this is not a Young Carers trip and our staff will not be attending).  If you would like to book a place please contact Sharon Lee Bateman of Createasmile directly on 01745 344303 or email her on asd.smiles@yahoo.co.uk

Conwy Young Carers Honeypot Trip!

10 young carers from around Conwy County recently had the most amazing overnight stay at the Honeypot Children’s Charity near Newtown in Powys.  They had the time of their lives over two days – playing go karts, cycling (and two learnt how to ride a bike!), trampolining, doing arts and crafts, playing games and running around the grounds!  We had a lovely evening too just chilling, reading stories and watching a dvd before retiring to our beautifully decorated bedrooms.  The food was amazing (and just kept coming and coming!) and all the staff looked after us so well.  We really didn’t want to come home ………..
